Research Chair Grant from the National Science and Technology Development Agency, Ministry of Science and Technology, for “Network for Research and Innovation for Trade and Production of Sustainable Food and Bioenergy”: The main goal of the project is to address sustainability concerns of agriculture, food, and energy sectors related to limited resources as well as the influence of climate change based on “Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment” and “Sustainability Assessment Tools”. This approach helps to identify the appropriate measures for encouraging industries as well as policy makers towards the sustainability of the industries. The expert network for sustainability assessment includes 9 LCA-based sustainable tools; niche market and food innovation, social life cycle impact index, water-food-energy nexus flow analysis model, nexus assessment approach, economic and environmental index, spatial differentiated characterization factors for sustainable bioenergy industry, Thailand eco scarcity index, water scarcity impact index, and socio-economic and biodiversity index. Thus, the expert network for sustainability assessment provides decision support tools and methodologies for achieving sustainability. In addition, this project is relevant to 7 SDGs; Goal 1 (no poverty), Goal 3 (good health and well-being), Goal 6 (clean water and sanitation), Goal 7 (affordable and clean energy), Goal 12 (responsible consumption and production), Goal 13 (climate action), and 17 (partnerships for the goals).

Strengthening resource efficiency and sustainable consumption & production: This project, funded by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) contributes to strengthening resource efficiency and sustainable consumption and production policy frameworks in Asia Pacific. It aims (a) to shift mindsets and inspire action on how to effectively enhance behavior change and communications of circular economy among young professionals in Asia, (b) to support learning about behavior, change and communication for a Circular Economy, (c) to enhance the network of young professionals working on circular economy across the region, and (d) to illustrate resource efficiency in Asia through regional indicators and database. Activities involved conducting a Leadership Academy on Communicating Circular Economy, preparing regional indicators and inventory databases on resource efficiency for 18 selected countries of the Asia Pacific region, assessment of interlinkage between Sustainable Consumption and Production, and regional issues has been carrying out to support countries in assessing the current pattern of consumption and production and its linkage with major planetary crisis for informed countermeasures design towards resource efficiency in 18 countries in Asia, and conducting a regional training on Sustainable Public Procurement (SPP)

The direct target is SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.
