The Faculty of Science, Mahidol University Attended the "51^st Anniversary of the Royal Bestowal of Mahidol University’s Name
and 131^st Anniversary of Mahidol University"

On March 2^nd, 2020, the Faculty of Science Mahidol University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Palangpon Kongsaeree, Dean of the Faculty of Science, together with staff and students, attended the ceremony "51^st Anniversary of the Royal Bestowal of Mahidol University’s Name and 131st Anniversary of Mahidol University", which took place at the Office of the President, Mahidol University, Salaya campus. The event aimed to commemorate the history of Mahidol University since the foundation of Siriraj Hospital in 1888, which later developed into the University of Medicine. HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great bestowed the name “Mahidol”, after the name of HRH Prince Mahitala Dhibesra Adulyadej Vikrom, Prince Father, which has become the official name of the university on March 2^nd, 1969.

The morning activities included laying a tray with pedestal to pay respect to the statute of HRH Prince Mahidol and viewing of an exhibition on the history of Mahidol University. This was followed by the "11^th Honorable Professor Chuchawal Osatananda Keynote Lecture" entitled "The Adjustment of the University in the Disruption Era", delivered by the Senator, Clinical Professor Emeritus Udom Kachintorn, MD. This keynote lecture has significantly pointed out the importance of a paradigm shift in education in the disruptive era.

The afternoon session was the award ceremony. On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Palangpon Kongsaeree in conjunction with Associate Professor Dr. Rutaiwan Tohtong, Deputy Dean for Corporate Communication jointly congratulated the 10 awardees from the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University who won several outstanding awards including:

1. Professor Emeritus Dr. Boonsirm Withyachumnarnkul, for the "Mahidol Thayakorn Award 2019" (for Outstanding Alumni) from the Mahidol University Alumni Association under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King.
2. Associate Professor Dr. Palangpon Kongsaeree, for the "2019 Outstanding Lecturer Award" from the Council of Mahidol University Faculty Senates.
3. Assistant Professor Dr. Ruchanok Tinikul, for the "Invention Patent and Petty Patent Award", the invention has received a Petty Patent No. 14519 entitled "Protein Marker".
4. Ms. Kitima Srisanga, for the "Invention Patent and Petty Patent Award", the invention has received a Petty Patent No. 14519 entitled "Protein Marker".
5. Mrs. Pranom Puchadapirom, for the "2019 Outstanding Mother and Staff Award" from the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University.
6. Assistant Professor Dr. Ekgachai Jeratthikikul, for the "2019 Outstanding Staff Award" from Mahidol University.
7. Assistant Professor Dr. Kornkanok Bunwong, for the "2019 Outstanding Staff Award" from the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University.
8. Associate Professor Dr. Somluk Asuvapongpatana, for the "2019 Outstanding Staff Award" from the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University.
9. Mr. Sethavudh Kaewviset, for the "2019 Outstanding Staff Award" from the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University.
10. Mr. Piya Kosai, for the "2019 Outstanding Staff Award" from the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University.
