A special forum entitled “A Pathway from Research to Innovation and Patent” was held on 19th January 2020 at the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University. The purpose of this forum was to congratulate the six Faculty members who won ‘Thailand Inventor’s Day 2020’ award from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), and the ‘TRF Senior Research Scholar Award’ from Thailand Research Funds. This was not only to cherish these award-winning scholars, but also to provide a platform for sharing experiences and showcasing how they translated their research into inventions and patents. Dean Palangpon Kongsaeree commended the six awardees including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vuthichai Ervithayasuporn from Department of Chemistry, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Panida Surawatanawong from Department of Chemistry, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rakchart Traiphol from School of Materials Science & Innovation, Asst. Prof. Dr. Teerakiat Kerdcharoen from Department of Physics, Asst. Prof. Ratchapak Chitaree from Department of Physics, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Ruchanok Tinikul from Department of Biochemistry. At the event, Dean Palangpon also congratulated Prof. Dr. David John Ruffolo from Department of Physics, for receiving the “TRF Senior Research Scholar Award” on the topic of “Space Physics”. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graced her presence earlier this year on 5th February 2020 in Chitralada Palace to commemorate Prof. Dr. David John Ruffolo with a trophy.
