Mr.Thirawut Nilpanapan, a student of Master Program in Materials Science and Engineering, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University under supervision of Assist. Prof. Teerakiat Kerdcharoen, Department of Physics, has successfully brought his team to be qualified as the last 12 teams of Mitr Phol Bio Innovator Awards 2016. The award announcement was organized in the opening ceremony of the workshop entitled "Modeling Idea for Youth", during 4-5 February 2017 at the Auditorium Room, Casean Center, Cyber World Tower, Bangkok. This award has successfully been running since 26 October 2016 with 60 teams entered into the competition for the first round, 12 teams is for a semi final and only the last 3 teams will be selected for a final round.
MUSC’s team called “IoT-Farm2Food” is consisted of other three graduate student members from MSc, Materials Science and Engineering; Mr. Teerayuth Chaisith, from Thailand, Mr. Thinley Namgyel and Mr. Jigme Norbu, TICA’s fellows from Bhutan. The innovation that was sent into the competition is a video clip presenting an innovative concept of “Internet of Things – A Genius Sugarcane Farm” – how to bring a modern technology idea to manage the Smart Farm under the concept of “Internet of Things”. This innovation will come to influent the management system running from raw material productions to manufacturing industries, in order to help improving smell and healthier environment including effective plants, labor costs reduction and optimize the processing of agricultural products.
