MUSC Participated in the Online Meeting on Research and Education Collaboration with University of Southern Queensland, Australia
On 10th August 2020, Assoc. Prof. Rutaiwan Tohtong, Deputy Dean for Research and International Relation together with Ms. Nongnuch Prasomkhum, Head of Office of International Cooperation and Mr. Sethavudh Kaewviset, International Relations Officer, jointly participated in the joint online meeting between Mahidol University and the University of Southern Queensland, Australia. In this regard, Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Acting Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication, Mahidol University took action in leading the executive representatives from potential faculties of Mahidol University including the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies and Faculty of Engineering.
The representatives from the University of Southern Queensland led by Prof. Ren Yi, Pro, Vice-Chancellor (International) addressed such interesting activities to collaborate with Mahidol University in terms of student exchange and research collaboration including joint program, health informatics, online teaching and learning as well as other joint online platforms. Furthermore, Mahidol University also addressed the key collaborative research areas in engineering, science, environmental, and nursing including the International Dual Degree Ph.D. program (Cotutelle).

MUSC Participated in the Online Meeting on Research and Education Collaboration with James Cook University, Australia
On 15th July 2020, Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Acting Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication, Mahidol University, hosted an online meeting with Ms. Allyson Butler, Global Experience Coordinator, International Directorate, Chancellery, a representative from James Cook University, Australia. The meeting was joined by the representatives from the Faculty of Veterinary Science, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Faculty of Engineering, and Faculty of Science. This meeting was organized with its fruitful discussion on various potential topics including student exchange opportunity, joint curriculum, research collaboration, and partnership building in different manners.
In this connection, the representatives from the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University led by Assist Prof. Unchera Viboonjun has proposed the feasibility to establish the joint research collaboration in tropical biology, plant biodiversity, plant ecology, plant physiology and endemic plant which are currently potential research areas. The meeting has also pointed out an opportunity to conduct a joint online conference, workshop, and short-training programs for further partnership building.
"New Normal towards the International Student and Guest Support” A special seminar to deploy the taking care of foreign students and staff based-on customer-centric focus, to be a sustainable organization
Friday, July 10, 2020, the International Cooperation Division in conjunction with the Policy and Quality Development Division, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, jointly organized a special seminar entitled “New Normal towards the International Student and Guest Support” to comply with the university’s regulation according to the guideline announcement for a new working pattern in the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University during the COVID-19 pandemic. The seminar was led by Dr. Ruchareka Wittayawuttikul, Deputy Dean for Quality Development and Social Engagement. In this seminar, several issues were brought into the discussion among many stakeholders within the faculty those who have to take responsibility in providing quality services and supports to foreign students and guests.
In this connection, Ms. Nongnuch Prasomkhum, Head of the International Cooperation Division has also given a special talk on “Customer-Centric Focus”, how to provide quality service to foreign students and staff regarding their visa obtains and visa extensions, work permit application and extension and etc.
Dr. Ruchareka Wittayawuttikul has also organized a special open discussion session to investigate the existing system for foreign student and guest supports, brainstorming to get authentic information among several representatives coming from the departments, schools, and programs. These crucial data will be used to improve the service patterns among foreign customers, and also to building up such the organization engagement of university personnel in order to strive for a sustainable organization.
Mahidol University Welcomed Delegations from University of Western Australia and Signing Memorandum of Understanding
On February 14th, 2020, the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University co-hosted a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between Mahidol University and the University of Western Australia. The ceremony took place at the K101 Room, Chalermprakiat Building, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, Phayathai campus.
The Visit of Delegations from Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA)
On Wednesday 12th February 2020, the representatives from the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Director of the Human Resources Development Bureau, together with its officials, visited the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, Phayathai campus. They were greeted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rutaiwan Tohtong, Deputy Dean for Corporation Communication, the Program Directors and students’ advisors. The objectives of the visit are to follow-up on the students’ study progress as well as to build up a platform for information exchanges and discussion among the TICA officials, students and Mahidol University staff.
