Details of Documentation, Submissions and Presentation Language

Abstract

Preparation of Abstract

  • Abstract documents must be in English with grammar check proofreading.
  • Advisor’s approval with a digital signature is required.
  • The provided abstract template is recommended to use.
  • Font format
    • Text: 14-point Calibri font
    • Special character: 14-point Symbol font
  • Abstract length within 1-page A4 with a set margin.
  • Download abstract template & sample abstract. The formats and guidelines can be found in the downloaded file.
  • Research topic’s format must express under the APA style capitalization rules as following:
    1. Capitalize the first word of the title/heading and of any subtitle/subheading
    2. Capitalize all major words (nouns, verbs including phrasal verbs such as “play with”, adjectives, adverbs, and pronouns) in the title/heading, including the second part of hyphenated major words (e.g., Self-Report, not Self-report)
    3. Capitalize all words of four letters or more.
    4. Lowercase only minor words that are three letters or fewer in a title or heading (except the first word in a title or subtitle or the first word after a colon, em dash, or end punctuation in a heading, e.g., a, an, the, and, by, for, etc.).
    5. Lowercase the second word after a hyphenated prefix (e.g., Mid-, Anti-, Super-, etc.) in compound modifiers (e.g., Mid-year, Anti-hero, etc.).

Abstract Submission

  • Deadline of abstract submission is 1 May 2024, at 16:00 h.
  • Naming the submission files:
    • Word file: MajorAssignednumber_Student ID_NameSurname_AB.doc or docx
      (Example: MA01_6305XXX_TichaCherdpol_AB.doc)
    • PDF file: MajorAssignednumber_Student ID_NameSurname_AB.pdf
      (Example: MA01_6305XXX_TichaCherdpol_AB.pdf)
      Note: Major is written as an abbreviation of each study major.
  • The abstracts must be submitted in both word and pdf formats.
    • For the pdf file, the digital signature and email of the advisor must be placed in the bottom-right of the page (see sample abstract) – advisor’s signature is for the approval, verification, and consensus to present the work.
  • The abstract must be submitted electronically with completion of filling presenter’s information via the exhibition website https://science.mahidol.ac.th/sciex/2024 E-mail will be sent to the presenter automatically (after submission), as well as to the advisor (within a week after submission).
  • Revisions are not allowed after the deadline for the abstract submission.
  • Rejection could be applied to any submission/presentation that does not follow the requirements.

Poster Presentation

    • All presenters (Plenary, Short Talk, Regular) must present their work as a ‘poster presentation’.
    • The poster must be expressed in English letters and the name of the topic must be the same as shown in the submitted abstract.
    • Each poster must be displayed all day long as part of the exhibition gallery for public viewing conference program on 24 May 2024.
    • Presentation time are assigned as follows.
      • 11:00 – 12:00 h for Poster with ‘Odd Number’
      • 15:00 – 16:00 h for Poster with ‘Even Number’
    • Note: Presenters are kindly requested to be present at their posters during the poster viewing session for discussions and evaluation.
    • The posters must be in portrait (upright) formatand should not exceed the following dimensions: 84.1 cm width, 118.9 cm height (A0).
    • Posters should be mounted on Thursday, 23 May 2024 from 13:30 h onward.
    • Please mount your poster on the poster panel marked with your poster number. Mounting/fixing materials will be provided and distributed on-site in the poster area.
    • The poster should contain research topics, objectives, experimental, results and discussion, conclusion/summary, including the researchers’ list and their affiliation.

    • Posters must be removed by 18:00 h on 24 May 2024.
